For lots of students, soccer is a very exciting and competitive sport that all students seem to enjoy. As most students and staff know, last season got lots of snow but hopefully this year will be different.
Since talking about new faces for this year’s soccer season, freshman Delia Peterson talks about what she’s most excited to experience for her first year playing high school soccer.
“Probably the idea of being able to meet new people,” said Peterson.
There are new kids on campus, but there are the OG’s that played soccer for the past few years of high school.
Jordan Bick told us that she has played soccer her freshman year and is going to play this year. She explained that she has had teammates inspire her from the past year of playing soccer.
“The junior team that played last year, who are now seniors, like Anna, Miranda, and Sawyer [inspire me].”
She also talked about how they all were super nice and worked well together.
Senior Ellery Stewart described her past experience with graduated Seniors and how they influenced her.
“[My] sophomore year, Mattie Knobloch and Mckenna Pfeiffer and herself, were all really close. Mattie and McKenna would give rides to practice while driving to and from school.”
She also explained how the past seniors would help mentor and were always open and helpful with the other girls.
Soccer is a team building sport that builds a lot of friendships and connections between players, especially over time.
Junior, Becka Castongia explained how she has played soccer since her freshman year of high school and is going to be playing this year. She explained that she has had a few fond moments over the years during soccer season.

“I have been on varsity for the past two years, and so being with the same group of girls made me enjoy every moment,” stated Castongia.
