The football season is always a big part of the culture here at Summerville High and this year was no different.

Beyond the Cave asked ASB why student section is a pivotal part of the sporting events.

Tyler Garman shared his thoughts.
“Our team is doing really well, and the student section is really good, they have more energy.”
To make the student section even more fun, ASB plans themes for the game.
ASB teacher Mrs. Soto talks more about that.
“There is a group that works with the cheer squad to figure out themes for the student section, so they talk it over and buy items for the event.”
Students get the memo of going all out. Not only is it support for the team, but it brings a lot of fun to the school. All the themes have been entertaining and fun to see.
Beyond the Cave interviews Lukas Soto for his opinion of the best home game this year.

“Probably Homecoming because we had a lot of people on the spirit board that were lifted up and the orange powder. I also got to walk Katie out for ‘Past Princesses.’ It was just a blast.”

There has been a lot of talk about the next theme for our last home game on Oct. 20.
In her interview, Mrs. Soto talks about how the whole school gets involved in decisions such as the theme of a football game or spirit days.
“The whole school gets a chance to participate in the decisions, because it all gets sent out on a huge list of all the suggestions and ideas we’ve gotten from students. So it’s not just the ASB students, it’s all of the students.”
Due to this factor, many students have come to an agreement for the next theme.
Lukas Soto shares his excitement about the next theme which is ‘Barbie.’
“Oh, I’m very excited. I own too many pink pieces of clothing I’m going to be wearing. So it’s going to be great, I’m excited.”
As Garman shared, our student section is pumped up. Beyond the Cave asked him about his favorite part of the game.
“The student section obviously.”
Many students would probably agree with this, interacting with everyone and coming together to make the game more fun.
